Did I say?
I don't think I mentioned that when the nice Doc put a steel hip in for me that he got the leg too long by half an inch. This really screwed me up but I got used to it finally. I just double pad the left shoe and single pad the right shoe and take a quarter inch off the right side sole. It's cheaper than a lift and it works without looking too frankensteinian. If I didn't wear my corrected shoes riding I would probably ride in a circle all day.
I have been getting discouraged with the bike riding as it still burns from the first hill on and I feel like it should be easier by now. It's not like I'm doing distance marathons, for crying out loud! These things I am calling hills and that make by thighs burn most people wouldn't even know were there. It's been 3 weeks now of increased yard work and riding every night. The garden weeding is my upper body work out and my bend and stretch. The bike is supposed to be the lower body workout. Any hints on this anyone?
Last night I got home, visited with the mate, we went out to ride the loop, ate a great dinner of rosemary and swiss chicken breast, baked potatoes, and salad. I headed back out to plant the red cosmos and cardinal climber I bought as seeds and the yellow and white holly hocks I had seed for from 4 years ago. I watered them in, hit the gardens, filled the bird baths, filled the oil seed feeder and put my toys away.
When I got in the house I was puffing like a marathon runner. I read one chapter in my book while the mate watched the Detroit basket ball team winning their game. I looked at the clock, 8:49. I shook my head and told the mate I had to go lay down. I was still breathing hard and sweating. I dragged out to make the coffee for morning, put my clean clothes mostly away and crawled into bed.
I woke before the game was over so I got to see the big finish, Detroit won. I had a smoke and went right back to sleep. The dreams were weird last night. The boss is going to fall and hurt himself sometime soon in a driveway or parking area covered with gravel. I could tell him but he won't belive me or maybe he'll belive me so well that he goes right out and falls in the first driveway he comes to that day. So I don't tell anymore, I just get the bandages ready and keep the cell on me to call 911.
So now you know I have not been just lurking and commenting but writing, too. It's just hard to find time to publish it.
Helpful hint: If you use Note Pad to write your blog before you post and are tired of putting the paragraphs back in, use an email message. At least, with Outlook Express, when I copy and paste the divisions stay in place!
I see you like cycling too. It's very flat over the border here not far from you, and that's the way I like it.
Thanks for the comment regarding sleep. That's actually been going fairly well lately, so I'll keep hoping for the best.
Thanks for stopping in, Anvilcloud, I love your handle!
Losing weight has helped me more than the machine with my sleep. Making sure I get physically tired has been important, too.
I don't know if you can say I "like" cycling, it makes me tired and works the lazy legs. I LIKE fishing, but it doesn't do anything for my health! LOL!
You can try chamomile and catnip tea with honey before bed, too, very relaxing.
